Board of Directors


Mike Angenent (Chairman)
Mike co-founded the Jeweltree Foundation back in 2008. He is a Certified Diamond Grader and Graduate Gemmologist of the Diamond High Council in Antwerp and holds a Master’s degree in Arts and Sciences from the University of Maastricht. He has over 15 years of experience in the diamond and jewellery sector and has an excellent trackrecord in the development of luxury products and applications as well as stakeholder engagement.

Wendy Ebus (Treasurer and Secretary)
Wendy has a degree in higher economics and has her own consultancy company focusing on business organization, personal development and education for over 15 years.
She has extensive knowledge of colored gemstones, minerals and marketing as she has had her own business in that area.
Wendy organized and joined Jeweltree on visits to mining companies in South Africa and the communities in Marange, Zimbabwe.
Presently her company Different Perspective performs administrative and consulting tasks in the area of accounting, taxes and financial advice.

Bas Wolfs (Board member)
Bas Wolfs is a senior program manager with more than 12 years experience in the digital and online domain.
He's been Senior manager Online Strategy for Vodafone and is presently Global Director Digital & Omni-channel at Telenor Group in Norway
Bas has experience in various digital platforms and mobile device technology. He has streamlined several development tracks in the telco industry, one of which was in cooperation with the UN and Malaysian farmers. That initiative is to boost the efficiencies and the socio-economic status of Malaysia’s agricultural community as part of the United Nation’s Integrated Sustainable Agriculture Programme.

General Management: Mike Angenent


Capacity Building / auditing: Jan Cappelle
Jan has been working for IPIS (International Peace Information Service) on corporate accountability and on capacity building. He now works for Capacity for Development. This organisation specialises in capacity building of African organisations and local people.

Auditing: Thomas Siepelmeijer
Initiator and cofounder of the Eco Andina Foundation in Argentina. Assisted in the realization of the first fair trade diamonds from a womens community mining organisation in Lesotho and helped establish a polishing coop in Surat, India. He is active in small scale mining for over 25 years.
Thomas is an European Geologist Title No 866; European Federation of Geologists (EFG) Brussels. He is a competent person according to National Instrument NI 43-101 for mineral resources classification (Canada). European Geologists are recognised by the mineral reporting authorities in Australia, Canada, South Africa and London as professionals accredited to sign reports on mineral reserves and resources within their area of expertise and in the valuation of mining companies quoted on the Stock Exchanges. www.siepelmeyer.com
